Any Second Generation Gamers? Third Generation?

We had a guy in our group whose step-dad brought him into the fold. Otherwise, I think everyone I've gamed with has been first generation.

Would Gary's grandkids count as 3rd generation? Does he have grandkids? I know he has several children. Most of his children are probably in their 40s now, yes?

Technically I am a second gen since my brother and I got the game for our Dad. We quickly appropriated it for our own, however.

My children will be gamers - actually one played herself, an infant, in an Ars Magica game. They would play if we let them (at 4 & 7 I don't think I would find the games enough fun to justify it).

I am first generation. I taught D&D to my children, two of whom still play the game (second generation). My oldest son is teaching the game to my only grandchild (so far), therefore...third generation is now starting to learn the game.

All three generations played a one-shot at Xmas this past year.....

My wife accuses me of corrupting the family's youth. I have taught the game to numerous nephews as well.

I'm kind of a second gen gamer. My parents played the game briefly 25 years ago or so but haven't played since. I found the game on my own, but am the proud owner of my parents' old manuals and dice.

I'm a 1st-gen roleplayer, but (at least) 2nd-gen gamer. My dad got me into wargames. One of the first encounters with RPGs I had was an OAD&D PHB my dad borrowed from a friend. (We tried to make an Apple ][ game based on it.) But the most roleplaying he did was DM'ing for me & my friends a couple of times after I got my Basic Set.

I plan to indoctrinate my kids in the hobby when they're old enough. I hope it takes with at least one of them. :)

One of my friends was taught to play dnd by his dad when he was a kid. His father used it to teach moral lessons; if Will stole or did bad things, his character got caught or had to escape. On the other hand, when he was heroic, he was rewarded.

I'm a second generation gamer myself (my mother ran a series of basic D&D campaigns in the '80s), and I've played with at least three other second generation gamers in my current group.
