Any thoughts on new smilies?

I know this has been brought up before, but with the move to the new boards, it seems like a perfect time to broach it again -- any chance we'll get a larger and more varied roster of smilies to use?

I have to admit, I'm not keen on boards where vast numbers of smileys and images are used. It looks horribly messy to me.

A lot of people have been saying that this current board style looks too cluttered as it is. I hate to think how it would look cluttered up with loads of different smilies.

I don't especially care for a lot of smilies, either. We may add a handful; for instance, we need to go back to the altered "confused" smiley, and we very well might replace that damned "rolling eyes" smiley with something less annoying - but that's probably about it.

Can we replace the rolling eyes smiley with a shrugging smiley? That's the one I really want.

Please? My birthday's coming up in, um, 3 months...

Well, I guess that's that. I prefer more options, as it helps to get past the lack of nonverbal cues that online text based discussion usually have. But I suppose it's not my call.

I think we should at least have a smiley that looks something like Piratecat's avatar. Or KidCthulhu's, or the Hello Cthulhukitty avatar a few people use.
