Any Word on the 3.5 Druid?

The druid is supposed to be recieving moderate changes in 3.5e, but not as many changes as the ranger or bard.

The 3.5e druid will be gaining some changes to their spell list. Also, the animal companion and wild shape have been changed, although I don't know how yet.

Wild Shape has probably changed to go with the new Polymorph.

Also, animal companions and Wild Shape will become more versatile, since many beasts will become animals (Wild shape into a dinosaur! Or have a Bullette animal companion).

Otherwise.....unhnu-unh.

Though not a change in the class proper, the fact that the feat that lets you cast spells in animal form will be in the new PH will make the class much more interesting. Now, some druids may very seldom get back to human form!

I heard that druids will not be allowed to be halflings or elves, so Bolo will need to be reincarnated at least one more time.

Just sayin' is all. ;)

I'm really looking forward to an improved Druid spell list, as it is I have to look through three books to get a list of prepared spells that makes sense for my character, mission, and setting.

Is there evn the teensy-weensiest ray of hope that the idiotic weapon restrictions are going to be dropped?

Since there are none, no! ;)

Druids are supposed to be nature priests. Their weapons are supposed to be representative of that. The club and staff, spears, etc., represent the woods' trees. The dagger, dart, etc., the thorns. The scimitar and sickle the crescent moon... The problem is more with the flavor text than the weapons allowed.

The same is true with the armor types. The flavor text should explain that druids do not use "metal raped from the earth", and therefore use only "natural" armors. (Too bad they took out the stuff about Bullette plates being used for armors and shields). Also, see the Ironwood spell, and Arms and Equipment Guide.

The weapons list will probably be tweaked, though, if stuff like the scythe gets added... or the clawed-club, or...

I would imagine if animal empathy becomes a class ability for rangers, it will for druids, as well.

Also, I'm counting on bows being added to the weapon list.
