Any Word Yet on Monster Manual 2?

Other than metallic dragons and frost giants, do we have any idea of what's going to be in the MM2 yet?

Mearls, if you're reading this, did you sneak in more 1e Fiend Folio monsters?

Will it have things keyed to the primal power source? Most MM monsters seemed pretty power source neutral, on the whole, to me.

What will the ratio of old converted monsters: brand new monsters be like?

Speculation? Insider info? Spoilers?

Well.. We know Demogorgon will be in there, since he's on the cover. I assume he'll have the stats of some high-up cultists with his entry like Orcus had.

And since MM1 had a bunch of undead to go with Orcus, maybe we can expect plenty of monstrous animals (Demo's schtick, right?) to go with Emogorgon. But we don't know that yet. ;)
 

I guess it will have the exact same layout at the MM. Ugh. A little less white space would be dandy though. The cover is awesome, regardless.
 



I hope it's not like 3E's MM2:

- bad art;
- numerous errors;
- an astonishing lack of creativity;
- an inability to adhere to design rules,

amongst many other sins.
 

Or like the 1st Edition MM2:

- black and white art;
- mostly recycled creatures from modules and Dragon Magazine;
- far too many creatures beginning with the letter "D".

yea the only complaint I have though is that there seam to be more solo and elite at the end of epic then anything else...

I hope MM2 has atleast 1/2 dozen minnons level 26+, and aleast 10 or 12 normal monsters level 28-33...just to even out the game a bit...


I think that we need some good 'minions' for the gods to have, or the demon lords...maybe a nice level 32 soldier angle...and some level 34 elite demons

As for high level minnons I think they need cool flavor and crunch...

Maybe a level 29 devil minon that when killed auto summons 2 more devil minnons of level 24...

how about a demon minnon that has a death throw that weakens the attacker that killed it save ends...if you are already weakened take a -2 to the saves to negate the weaken + -1 more per additional killed...

How about minnons that when they die crate zones burst 1 or 2 intill the end of the next turn of the killer...

how about epic hobgoblin minnons that have the heyna special ablity...anyone adjasent to them grants combat advantage...seams like a nasty little merc soldier to throw out on the field...
