Anyone buying Dreamblade?

I haven't seen any of the Dreamblade minis up close and personal. They look great online, and I'd like to get some solely for use in D&D, but I don't know what the most efficient strategy is. With D&D minis, I just pre-order complete sets off of eBay, but for whatever reason, nobody's doing that with Dreamblade.

It's particularly unhelpful that WotC isn't providing a great deal of info about the set on their website. Does anybody know what the distribution is on Dreamblade minis? Does it even have a common/uncommon/rare schema? Is there an online gallery available?

DB has the typical common/uncommon/rare scheme. As far as a gallery goes, the last thing I saw on the website was only about 10 figures out of the 92 (?) that's in the set.

Their scale is a bit wonky. I have little interest in playing the game, if a figure comes up that looks cool I might buy a single on ebay.

No

Played it. Basic mechanic is currently too skewed toawrds grabbing sqs rather than combat. That will change as minis come out.

Unfortunately, the cross-over on the minis is week.

Should just done Magic the Mini game. Seriously, they should have.

As to scale, I have no problems with the Dreamblade minis being larger than the "typical" D&D mini. Monsters get to be big!

Is there even available info as to how many minis are in the initial release? If I buy a sealed case, and assuming no duplicate rares, how far am I from having a complete set?

Agreed. So I may very well buy some individuals. But I won't be going out of my way for these.

Nope.

I buy mini's to support my table-top RPG and the mini's game. Why do I need another set of mini's that can't be used for either?

The scale is not suitable for table-top or DDM, and for me it's just a waste of money ... IMHO. Except for a couple of DB mini's that I might buy for unique encounters.

I checked out a display of the entire first set at Comic-Con; there were plenty of "that's a cool enough miniature, I guess" but none that jumped out at me. And I'm certainly not going to play "some other miniatures game from WotC" if I'm not playing DDM or SWM now.

Like others have said, I'll probably take a look at the set galleries as they come out and grab any singles that appeal ... but otherwise I don't have any use for it.

Why can't they be used for D&D? Why is the scale "not suitable"?
