Anyone else looking forward to running or playing Numenera?

Am I the only one greatly anticipating the release of this game? In case you don't know, Numenera is a new science fantasy rpg by Monte Cook. I unfortunately missed the kickstarter. I just found out about the game last week. It looks amazing!

I can't post links yet because I just joined, but you can go to Numenera.com to see more.

I'm going to be running it as soon as it comes out in the Bothell, WA area, so if you're nearby and want to play (this coming fall), let me know.

Otherwise, let us know if you're going to be trying out this game.

I'm excited about it, I love pretty much everything of Monte's that I've come across, but I'm not sure if I'm going to get it, much less be able to run it.

I guess I'll wait to see it in print, and then gauge whether or not it's something I "need" to have.

I'm most excited about the setting. There are so many possibilities. Just reading about it, I had ideas coming to mind!

I'm also looking forward to seeing how the system works. I like the design philosophy behind it, which will hopefully keep it from getting unwieldy like some other systems out there and keep the focus on story and fun.

Why would you think you're the only one? It raised a quarter of a million dollars! Unless you're very rich, the odds suggest you're not the only one. :)

I don't really think I'm the only one. :) I was just hoping to start a conversation among those of us who are looking forward to the release.

I guess my thread title was a rhetorical question, which isn't very good thread design I suppose. :)

I think I'm looking forward to the setting more than anything else, but I'm prepared to be impressed on the crunch front too. I think Mr. Cook found an interesting niche to explore with a setting like Numenera. Not necessarily because it's blazing any wholly new fictional territory. It just seems to have shaken some of the dust off a hard to reach spot on MY game shelf at least.

I love the idea of Numenera, but I would not like to GM it (as I don't feel I could do it justice) nor play a tabletop RPG with it (as I don't think *any* GM would provide what I'd want out of it as a player). However, I was *thrilled* to learn about the Torment kickstarter that will use this setting as a backdrop. *That's* how I want to play in it. :)
