Anyone else looking forward to the new WoTC modules?

I much prefer modules over rule books. Rules I won't necessarily like or use, modules I will use, either part of, or totally, one of these days.

Despite having more adventures than I could run in the next 3-4 years, I am very happy to see WotC pumping out the adventures again. More choice is always preferred over less in my book as long as it doesn't affect the quality of what they're putting out.

I picked up the newest module "Scourge of the Howling Horde" last weekend before seeing the previews on WOTC site. It was $21 Canadian and contains an encounter on the road, a town and a 12 room dungeon in 32 pages. Compared to the Sunless Citadel which had over 50 encounter areas with a wide variety of creatures.

Expedition to Castle Ravenloft looked good and I should have picked that up instead.

That's the other pro for adventures. It is a lot easier to update them and use the material with future editions. If you just want to steal a map or two the no conversion work is needed at all. This isn't so easy to do with rulebooks.

Not really excited nor care much for all these adventure modules coming out.

One more adventure module means one less non-adventure book from WotC to me.

Adventure books are used once and there goes my money. At least non-adventure books I always turn back to when I need info, suggestions, or to look something up.

Isn't there a big new Eberron adventure coming out?

Yes.

Curse of the Dragon's Eye, by Stephen Schubert, Tim Hitchcock, and Nicolas Logue, 128 pages, TPB, $24.95

This super-adventure is for levels 5-10, involves dragons, the Blood of Vol, and a curse tied to the Draconic Prophecy.

Heroes searching for a mysterious artifact called the Dragon’s Eye fall victim to an ancient curse tied to the Draconic Prophecy. They must unravel the truth about the curse while fending off agents of Lady Vol and the dragons of Argonnessen, who want to destroy them and claim the Dragon’s Eye for themselves.

Curse of the Dragon’s Eye is an Eberron super-adventure for 5th-level characters and is designed to take them to 10th level. The adventure uses a new combat encounter format designed to make the Dungeon Master’s job easier and to speed up play.

I think the cool thing about scenarios is the fact that SOOOO many people can share in the event. Players love to share stories (or gripe) about playing in scenarios.

I think scenarios create a fellowship amongst a world of gamers.

Good point. I've never actually experienced it, but I've witnessed that a lot on EN World.
