WotC Anyone Else Tired of the Wizards Bashing?

Some individuals in the corporations, likely without talking with people on the D&D team that knew the product better, pushed something stupid. .
This is wrong. We know people from the D&D team were on the team for this. We also know, via Kyle, they voiced concern and were overruled or ignored.

I'm not particularly sympathetic. WotC did some stuff I didn't like, my opinion has soured, they should do a lot of things I like if they want to change that. Not carrying forward on a threat doesn't absolve you from making it. Toy companies shouldn't hire threatening goons. And those are just the ethical concerns, not the pettier design/business ones I'd quibble about personally.

We can do the "corporations aren't your friends" stuff if you like, but that's just a general defensive stance it's sensible to take as a person in modern society, not a moral statement. I'd prefer a world where they were (or, if you want to be cynical about it, a world where they're incentivized to behave as if they were), and it's always disappointing to see the value of that as a default position confirmed again.

I am somewhat sympathetic to the sort of fatigue this can engender. I understand that it would be more comfortable if everyone more or less got along, if there wasn't acrimony laced through individual and institutional relationships, but it's been the social project of the last century to point out that peace is mostly a lie, and asking for it relies on trampling over someone else's discomfort. Calling for everyone in the public square to smile is asking for the discontent to be hidden, or to try and diminish their complaints so they can be ignored. The trade-off of annoying people more or less or comfortable with the status quo vs. not giving voice to people who aren't isn't worth it.

As far as following the WotC critics on YouTube and other online sources, it has led me into a rabbit hole of despicable content (just like the anti Star Wars streamers did after Last Jedi). I'm not saying that the critics are themselves despicable, but it polluted my algorithms with unimaginable and detestable stuff.
So for my own mental health, I'm focusing on more positive engagement with the hobby.

Would love to know if you believe this Remaster will thoroughly decouple PF and D&D legally considering it's being done with rather impressive speed or if it's more likely they will still miss some OGL items not in CC.
unless this gets settled by a court, you will never know. At most you have a good idea of whether it is enough of a separation or not

As far as protecting themselves if Wizards' revokes OGL 1.0a, I still believe Pathfinder Remastered would be in trouble because they still have six little words: Strength, Intelligence, Wisdom, Dexterity, Constitution, and Charisma. Removing the 3-18 scale doesn't change that. I also think they are smart enough to know that and expect players to just buy their excuses.

I mean, the stat names alone would make for a quite weak copyright suit according to most lawyers I've heard on the topic, but Wizards does have a great deal of money.

If they wanted to bleed Paizo (while also bleeding themselves) over various product similarities, they likely could, but it wouldn't be, like, a righteous get.
