Anyone ever play a Githyanki or a Quickling?

I just played a 16th level Githyanki Psion in a one-shot evil game this past weekend. It was really fun, although I didn't get to "build" the character (all the characters were pre-generated by the DM so I didn't know what I was getting until the day before).

As someone said, there are lots of fun roleplaying opportunities. The party consisted of a tiefling, a fallen aasimar vampire, and a half-fiend something-or-other, and then a human and a sun elf were-leopard assassin. I kept referring to the human and the elf as "primes" and ignoring anything they said and basically acting like I should have been leading the party (based on my superior intelligence) even though the half-fiend was really the leader.

Fun stuff.

I played a half-quickling in college--oh, and she was fine. Other half was human, but she was raised by halflings and was a cleric of Brandobaris.

Sweet mercy. What a lark.

Yes--the quickling is "all that." And more. Never pass up a chance to do this.

The party's elven mage and my half-quickling cleric had a long standing rivalry--you have to imagine the interplay between someone whose lifespan isn't likely to exceed 12 years, and someone who is centuries old.

Live for the moment! Seize the day! And anything else that isn't nailed down . . . or could be pried loose with tools you might happen to have lying around--especially if it looks like something could be poised over a doorway where it might spill on someone's head. And don't be there when he looks up, because if 12 is all you get, it would be nice to get all twelve of them. On the other hand, when you know you're not going to live forever, it's kind of nice to know you will never be as old as certain fogies I could name, if I didn't feel so sorry for him.

She wrote a poem once:

"There's music in a tavern,
There's music in a fair,
There's music in an archmage
When you freeze his underwear."

That mage was her very best, most special friend. He only killed her a few times, and each time he personally paid to have her raised. That's true friendship that is.

Githyanki yes, they have been PCs in campaigns I have run since the Fiend Folio. Dark Horse ( a miniatures company in southern Idaho) made a line of figures back then called unholy warriors that looked just like the githyanki that were excellent for using as a PC figure back then. They are still prevalent in my homebrew and an optional race. The Incursion campaign in the Dragon/Dungeon issues was a godsend. Amazing material and history for a unique race.
Sorry for the slight hijack.
Dragon-Slayer, when did they make miniatures? They were only a RPG/Wargame store when I knew them. I never knew Wolf made any mini's.

I can't say I've played either, but I've been wanting to play a Githyanki, but since I mostly DM these days, I haven't had a chance yet.

I have somebody playing a githzerai monk in my campaign, though he doesn't show up so much anymore. I've had folks look at the githyanki package and they consistently say "Wait, this is guy is a +2 level adjustment too? No way!"

I have to say I agree. Zerai get larger ability score bonuses and more psionic powers right out of the starting gate. Anyone else see any discrepency? Personally, I'm thinking about dropping the damn Yankis down to a +1 LA.

They made miniatures in the mid-80's. Their old adverstisements should still be in the Dragon archives (the cd). I still have a few of their unholy warriors and their undead. Not the best miniatures, however, not bad at all by the standards of the time.
