Anyone feel like donating for art?

The Burned Man

First Post
Is anybody out there willing to donate a small amount say, 5-10 dollars a month, so that we can keep on commissioning artists?

I can propably donate a little more myself, but would like to know if there is any interest?

If we can get a few people to donate small amounts on a regular basis we could propably get one to four picture commissioned every month /depending on the quality on the picture/.

Any opinions?

While I'm not in the financial position to commision artists at this point in time,
I have been more than willing to donate some of my art for free (both maps and pictures). I haven't seen a post from Myth & Lore in a while, but he too has made similar offers.

I also think that until we get this board updated, consistant, and prevent people's valuable writting getting lost or forgotten about. Paying for art is kind of moot. Art is great, don't get me wrong. But I think we need to get our cake in order before we add the icing.

By the way, did you ever get a chance to give me feed back on this pic?

Yes and that is nice. I´d like all of the art by Myth and Lore and YOU to be put into the galleries in daemonforge. Even if all the art isn´t made "official" it can be added to give people ideas (just like with texts)...

No need for you to commission artists, I can personally put up 30 to 50 dollars a month, but it really depends on how many others want to donate (with reasonable budget a month you can get one high-quality or perhaps 4 "average" pictures).

I already had a working relationship with a few artists and wanted to keep it up (ie keep the artwork consistent).

So this post is just a preliminary post, Those who haven´t got jobs are ofcourse in noposition to donate.

Yes art is great since it "binds" together texts. And yes we need to get the house in order.

Nice idea. I was trying to commission an artist to do exactly this, but then it turned out I had no budget:(

whats up with the gnome/elf? It looks like a small orc? (you know the tusks...

Anyways a picture like that is what I´d like to give a representation of the hybrids, although in my mind most hybrids would be a little more "toned", hmm dont know how to put it..

maybe a little like this

I like your maps. A little less keen on your picture here, if you want my honest response.

Do you have a b&w version? I´d like to see that one.

I was just making a rough sketch to see what mixed races might look like.
But I could easily make a black and white version. Also, the gnome/elf is supposed to be a gnome/orc actually.

Also, by toned down, do you mean want them to have less obvious features and just an altered physiology?

::bows a greeting to all, this being his first post ::

Greetings. I am an aspiring artist who has been looking for some projects for some time now (since the beginning of Daemonforge if any remember me...er...I'll just let that remain a mystery then)

I am hoping to get some emails soon. If you guys can point me in the right directions, I think I could do you some good.

Of course, if my art goes into anything that makes cash, I want some - just like any American would.

If for free... well, just give me time and respect the fact that I'm only one man. Look to hear from you EN guys soon.

Thanks,

John

I'm not dead yet.

Hey LRonKnieval & Burned Man,
As I've talked to the Burned Man before, I'm very busy right now, and coming up with "concept art" is rather time consuming. (as it requires thinking ;) )
Hopeful I'll have time to do some DF stuff in the coming months.
As you can see I still wander thru the DF board ever once in a while. ;)
My posting on the board is becoming less and less frequent due to lack of time.
Anyway, good luck and keep trucking if you can. :)
I'll still be poping my head in from time to time.
Hopefully I'll be abe to start doing a batch of stuff for you guys around summer.

jdurtche,
Do you have a link to artwork you've done before that the Burned Man could look at to give him an idea of how you could help?

The Daemonforge "project" has no budget, but that which has been donated. (So far mostly from EN WORLD; which basically means Morrus pockets).

So its non-profit. If one is an artist and feels like contributing, thats great. I have written a lot of stuff for the project and haven´t gotten a dime :)

Two artists have been commissioned, Eric Lofgren and Mike May. Both have done works for RPG companies before. If one wants money for ones art it should be of similar quality...

Mikes has done two patrons sofar (one has been uploaded)

Eric did the four reths (which havent been uploaded)

well I am very much in debt right now and currently working at a conviniance store so my desposable income is pretty much limited to buying a beer with some friends once a month or so, or buying a chocolate bar for lunch. Sorry I can't help out any, but if I ever get some extra cash I'll float some your way.
