Anyone going to/been to ShadowCon? [Memphis, TN]

I moved to the Nashville area in March, and have been gaming with the local LG players for a few months now. Some of them are going to ShadowCon in January. I'm not sure if I want to go with them.

I've never been to a con before, so I think it's be better to bust my cherry on a smaller con like this. But I dont know if it's worth the time away from work + money spent. A rough estimation puts my costs at somewhere around $400 for the weekend. Those of you with con experience, is this too low a figure?

I haven't been to Shadowcon since the mid-90's. Now I feel old.

Sharing room and ride costs make it more affordable... Con suite and Hafla had free food as well as the feast on Sat night (if you included it in your ticket). I'd want $400 because of the dealers room, though... so who knows.
