Anyone know anything about Cruise Con? (by ConQuest)

Hey all,

Some friends were at ConQuest Sac this weekend and got a flyer about ConQuest Cruise Con '08 which is going to Alaska.

So far the web site ( http://cruisecon.avalongamecon.com/) has limited information, but we are over a year out so thats not a big deal. I'm just wondering if anyone here has been on, or know's someone that has gonr on one of ConQuest's Cruise Con's before and what you thought heard?

Looking at the tenative gaming schedule its looking like almost all Board/Mini's games and not much RPG's which is my main interest.

I know a Rolemaster themed cruise was organized by fans a few years back...

The cynical half of me has one thought for you: "gamers in Speedos."

And yes, this one is board game themed. Jean Rabe once organized a Cruisecon that was for rpgs. I'm not sure how well it did.

Yes. Now, we just need a method to excise the image from our minds. Did I ever mention I went to the Superman Expo in Cleveland, 1988? It was a combo comic-con, scifi con, and Star Trek con. Next Gen had just had its first season. Remember how the first season's starfleet uniforms were particularly snug-fitting what-looks-like spandex? Now imagine a number of enthusiastic-but-amateur tailors wearing their homemade spandex starfleet uniforms in the midst of a sweltering Cleveland summer. I still wake up screaming.
