Anyone seen Dragon 352 yet?

If I wasn't already a subscriber, the prospect of 'slake moths' would sell the issue for me.

I was actually more excited about this upcoming issue than I was about 351 :)

I got my copy of #351 before my copy of #350 - which still hasn't arrived - but I kinda suspect it was rushed to me (arrived in a yellow envelope like replacements for missing issues do) because it was the last issue of my subscription, and they wanted me to re-up.

But, haha! I already had, so I win!

Wow, yeah I just got 351 maybe three days ago. However I guess it is not unusual considering where I live for things to be a bit late.

Xy,

You and me both pal.

Pants,

I honestly don't understand this draw for China. Maybe it's because I never read his work. But I mean I can see the draw for say, Black Company, or even Thieves World. Just not sure this is one of those things...

Read something of his. Hell, just the first couple pages of The Scar. That good.

Shem,

It's on my list. I'll get to it after I finish A Thousand fold thought and Memories of Ice. Along with Tyranny of the Night and Shadow Fall.

You cannot compare China Mieville to Glen Cook. They're not operating on the same plane, mate.

Mh,

Well who do I compare him to then? Donaldson? Lovecraft? I'd like to know where I stand with a writer at times...

That's the problem. :)

Give him a spin when you're able.

Even though I've never read it, most people compare Mieville's work with Gormenghast.

Personally, I'm not sure who to compare him to, he's just Mieville.

I ALMOST prefer Perdido Street Station to The Scar, even if The Scar might 'technically' be the better constructed story. PSS has such great and fantastic imagery. And the cool monsters. :D
