Anyone successfully played a non-humanoid in D20?

I know that Savage species doesn't recommend playing animals as characters or infact anything else that isn't basically 'human-ish' shaped (you know - head(s), hand(s), feet)

but has anyone successfully played a non-humanoid creature using a D20 system? I had a PC play a Dolphin ranger but that was set in the water. Anyone out there have a favourite Goat Fighter or Otyugh Barbarian character they want to share?

I haven't *played* in a campaign in years. I'm always stuck GMing. :) I think the most likely game for a non-humanoid would be Gamma World or a similar setting.

I'll be playing a Sainted Unbodied Psion (Telepath) in our next epic game. That, while technically a monstrous humanoid, doesn't have hands or feet or, well, anything.

We are hoping at some point to get in an Uplift game, which would hopefully include non-humanoids. In our game the only non-human is a thri-kreen, which doesn't have very many of the non-human drawbacks that would prevent it from being played

Sounds a lot like the Will-o-wisp Rogue/Psion character I created bt like Crothian no one would let me play her - um it - um yeah...

It is ALL about the CUUUUUBE!

I hope the cube has tumble. I love that image...

Anyways, we are starting a campaign using Dragons with the dragon rules that have dragons from level 1 characters (hatchlings) up to level 20. Don't plan on playing that long, but the game will start with level 3 or 4 dragons. My daughter is running it, and wants to run one adventure from it as a pick-up game at GenCon.

I've played a red dragon hatchling for about 2 game sessions... all the PCs were dragons, though. :)

I also played a black cat. She was a familiar whose master had been killed during a ritual - basically, because she as familiar was working to "ground" him, magically, she ended up with the casting abilities of a 20th level wizard (only the spells he actually had memorized at the time, she cast as per a sorcerer) and being able to speak common. It was in a modified s20 Modern Urban Arcana game. I had a blast with her.
