Anyone Want To Take The Lead On This...

I would like to see an E6 for Pathfinder. Anyone want to start this up?

We should use this thread to get our bearings, find one or more project leaders, and decide on a name (maybe P6)

Feel free to do some brainstorming here...

I really can't think of anything you would do different in E6 Pathfinder than you would do in E6 3.5. The same basic concept applies. Character level advancement stops at 6th level. Everyone gets a capstone ability at 6th level (it seems like these wouldn't change from the 3.5 version) if they take all 6 levels of one class. The only thing that would maybe need to be altered is the number of experience points you need to get a feat. It might need to be bumped up to 6000 exp or so.

Pathfinder Epic Sixth

I'd like to see it, myself. For me, E6 was one of the greatest houserules made for 3.5. I love it so much that I include it in my sig.

The capstone abilities for all the classes are a good idea.

Also, I think the Leadership feat from Pathfinder needs to have the level requirement bumped back down to 6th, if sixth is to remain the level cap.

Question: Does Pathfinder keep the same quartiles as core 3.5?

Pathfinder Epic Sixth Feats

Also, some of the feats that would normally require a character to be above sixth level could possibly have their prerequisites adjusted so that a sixth level character could get them. For instance, Improved Critical really isn't too powerful for an P6 game, in my opinion. Instead of requiring BAB +8, it could simply require Fighter 6th.

I guess it would be fair to say that Pathfidner does keep the same "quartiles" as 3.5. IIRC, the capstone abilities suggested for 3.5 E6 were as follows:

Bard - An extra bardic performance a day or a 3rd level spell known and spell slot. I can't remember which, since I'm operating purely by memory form about 2 years ago. I would suggest one 3rd level spell slot for Pathfinder.

Barbarian - DR 1/- I would probably keep it the same in Pathfinder

Cleric - I can't remember this. I know there was a suggested feat that let them do restoration and another one that let them do stone to flesh. I would say increase their channel energy to 4d6 for Pathfnder.

Druid - in 3.5, the capstone was wild shape into a large animal. I would give them one more wild shape a day in Pathfinder.

Fighter - Martial Veteran which allowed a fighter to act as if his BAB was +8 for the purpose of qualifying for feats. I would keep this the same.

Monk - I think it was wholeness of body for 3.5. In addition, I would change their flurry of blows attack bonus to +4/+4/0 for Pathfinder.

Paladin - I think it was a 2nd level spell slot for 3.5. I would keep it the same for Pathfinder.

Ranger - I think it was swift tracker for 3.5. I would give them swift tracker, woodland stride, and maybe another favored enemy or 2nd level spell slot for Pathfinder.

Rogue - It was a rogue talent for 3.5, which would equate to an advanced rogue talent for Pathfinder.

Sorcerer - I cant't remember what it was for 3.5. I would give them a bloodline feat and spell for Pathfinder.

Wizard - I can't remember what it was for 3.5. Maybe give them an extra 3rd level spell slot for Pathfinder.

I'm going to go E8 with my PF game, which will start after our current DM gets through punishing us with The Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil. So far, I've seen very little that I'll need to change. In fact, most of the changes I'm implementing deal with adding psionics, a few races, selections from Bad Axe Games' Trailblazer, and the fact the PCs are going to be from Earth circa 2009.

Good to see some interest. I'm sure more will be along. Some are just getting the book.

It always seemed to me that the cornerstone of E6 was Skill related. See the Alexandrian D&D: Calabrating Your Expectations. The idea being that a 5th level character, expert with an 18 in the key abikity score, max skill ranks, skill focus, and 1 or 2 circumstastial bonuses actually was able to match real world records.

Add 1 more level and a PC class, and you really are epic.

My typing is poor, I don't know how to link or make a good pdf so I'm not the one to keep things tidy.

Might be time to look for skill differences, possible max ranks, typical DCs ect...

Keep it going folks.

That may be where it started, but I think it really ending up being a way to avoid the craziness of high level 3.5 D&D, especially the spells, while still allowing characters to advance as the game progresses.
