Anything odd happen to you on Halloween?

several brides. Are parents trying to push their 10 year olds out the door really early?

Come to think of it- my daughter was dressed as a bride. Bad Andy.

Hmm ... nothing really in my neck of the woods.

Of course I live two miles up a mountain and the nearest town has a population of 60. I don't think the few kids were THAT inspired to walk up the mountain side. :)

So I spent the night very quietly with my cat (a beautiful Himalayan, by the way) reading the writings of a 7th century writer from the city of Ninevah, located in the country of what is now Qatar. (Hurrah if you know where that is.)

Believe it or not, I actually know where that is, and I suck at geography.
Your closest town has a population of 60? Wow, that must be nice and quiet. I wouldn't mind living way out of the way as long as I had a small town with 1 restaurant in it close and be no more than 2-3 hours from a real city. Every now and then I need civilization, but for the most part, I would love being away from it.

Sounds like you would like Vermont. 1 hour to Albany (now with an international airport), 3 hours from Burlington (college nightlife), 4-5 hours from NYC or Boston.

I live next to a river complete with a covered bridge and Norman Rockwells home and Robert Frost's home the next town over.

Arlington- population 2800. Don't blink- you'll miss it.

You know where Ninevah and Qatar are? Wow. Well ... it's always nice to have an assurance that in some things one is not too alone in the world.

Yes ma'am, it IS nice and quiet. The town does have a greasy spoon type o' place, but thats' about it. It, the post office and the general store (as well as the ones who own the town that live in the back and on the top floor) are all under one building. But I am up on the 'ole mountain away from it. The time I get the most guests has actually just passed. That's during hunting season. I have a neighbor who loves to feed the local deer and HATES trespassing hunters. He'll actually patrol the roads on his 4 wheeler to make sure hunters are not on any private property and he has nailed quite a few folks.

But ... I digress from the thread. Apologies all! :)
