Explain your version of Vorpal\

Here ya' go:
-------------------------------------------------------
Vorpal: This potent and feared enchantment bears an extraordinarily sharp blade. Upon a successful critical hit, a planar rift replaces the blade of the weapon, allowing the weapon to cut through even the hardest materials. The vorpal enhancement deals an additional x6 force damage. For instance, a longsword deals 1d8 points of damage per hit. So a vorpal longsword will deal 1d8 (normal damage) + 1d8 (normal critical damage) + 6d8 (vorpal damage) points of damage. Additionally, upon a successful critical hit, the target must make a successful Fortitude save (DC = damage dealt) or die instantly.

A vorpal weapon must be a slashing weapon. The damage dealt by a vorpal weapon is force damage and can even harm creatures that are immune to critical hits.
Caster Level: 18th; Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, keen edge, finger of death; Market Price: +5 bonus.
-------------------------------------------------------

In his defense yoru first assumption is alittle to harsh my friend. He is not as experienced a DM...

You'll note that I mentioned the possibility that he just wasn't that experienced. I'm not as harsh as you think. :)

Now if i get this plus desisive strike and assasian's blade I could well, I think the attack would split the planet in two.

Psst ever heard of commuting kreynolds :D

That's the whole point. Vorpal is supposed to be mean as hell. My version simply takes the work off of the DM's shoulders.

So you want me to commute to Canada, eh? Forget it, eh? ;)

so the scythe would do

2d4 +6d4 + 12d4 ... too powerful

If I'm not mistaken i think your average damage from the dice would only be like 50. Am I wrong?

Max dice damage would be only 80, not to strong

Edit: Wait a sec! Could you break that down for me?

How so!?! Vorpal was instant death before. I just gave every creature struck by it a fighting chance when it's wielded by a low-level character, but at high levels, it's just as deadly as the original Vorpal. Don't forget about the original Vorpal.
