AoO for a spiritual weapon?

Can a Spiritual weapon get an attack of opportunity? For example.. Cleric has a spiritual weapon attacking a mage. Mage attampts to cast a spell (which normally draws an Attack of opportunity if he is in threat range of an attacker). In this situation would the Spiritual Weapon get an AoO?

From the spell description, the spiritual weapon strikes as a spell, not a weapon. You can't make AoOs with spells, so I'd say the spiritual weapon doesn't get an AoO.

It can't flank, it doesn't occupy a square, so probably no AoO.

spectral hand on the other hand... hmm...

It doesn't threaten an area so no AoO.
Same is true of spectral hand for that matter (which is actually too small to threaten an area).
