Apologies from HinterWelt to RPG Objects and fans

Eh. Basically a retailer made a mistake and put a book on the wrong shelf. It's no big deal, and I don't think you need to apologize.

Not precisely. They applied HinterWelt's trademark to RPG Objects IP, assigned it to our catalog and made it appear, for all extents and purposes, as a HinterWelt title. Surely, all by accident but we felt it was important to let people now we weren't doing it on purpose. I recently received emails to that effect and felt it best to inform the public what was going on before the rumors started. Chris at RPG Objects was not even aware of the mix up as I imagine most folks were not but better safe than sorry. Still, I wanted to express my regret for any misunderstanding by fans of RPG Objects or HinterWelt customers.

Basically, in the electronic age, this kind of error can be troublesome. As others have noted, it is not over either.

Thanks,
Bill

To be clear, that is not my objective. I only wish to let people who had not contacted me know what was going on. I understand that accidents happen.
Even in an accident, someone is at fault. Most of the fault here goes to OneBookShelf. Do not defend their misdeed that resulted causing you and RPG Object so much trouble recently.

Didn't realize OBS also manages EN World PDF Store (DTRPG and RPGNow appears correct). You better check this out, Morrus.

It's just a mirror (with different colours). It'll show the same as the main site at all times.

Hey, I once ordered something from one of the PDF stores, and the zip file I got contained a completely different book from the one I ordered. Databases get messed.

Edit: For example, my wishlist on OBS's sites got trashed so frequently, they finally just gave up & emailed me a .csv copy. Large wishlists broke the system, I guess.

Yeah, but it's your mirror site that is causing all this brouhaha.

Mind you, I don't know if they fixed it before I posted this message.

Nah. That would still be the dumbasses who sent those emails to Hinterwelt accusing them of infringement of RPGObject's copyrights when it would have taken them less time to check both companies' Web sites to see these are two different products with similar names and that this was so obviously a database error. :)

Well, the ones who are making accusations are truly cowardly dumbasses. A few perhaps merely informed them of an advertisement error.
