WotC Apparently an FR fan that also happens to be an investor asked CEO Cox a gew questions.

The big surprise is CEO Chris Cox' home D&D campaign in set in Kara Tur. Cox even wants a 5e Kara Tur product. More FR video games coming, but WotC won't do mobile games themselves, they will partner with those that do.

Funny thing is at the investor meeting the CFO had to interject that no one else knew wtf they were talking about as this person was the first and only Superfan Investor, so only CEO, CFO, and the this guy knew what any of the D&D FR stuff meant, the other investors were clueless. Apparently Cox was excited to have an actual Superfan at this thing for a change (these meeting must normally be very boring).

Might be my freshly released copy of Pathfinder 2e's Tian Xia World Guide talking, but honestly, I'd be all for an update to Kara-Tur.

It'd be a lot of work, to be sure, but I think it's long overdue.

Thanks to both the Spellplague and Sundering they have a lot of space they can get creative with. Update Hengeyokai and Spiritfolk.

I mean Tian Xia does well it'll make Kara Tur more tempting.

I think it's sad that Enworlders are more comfortable letting a megacorp run D&D then in trusting their comrades.
We only get a little mad from the megacorp. Meanwhile if someone suggested we remove gnomes from the game, I would be starting a fist fight in the metaphorical office, so to say we'd get a lot mad if we did it

EDIT:

Hengeyokai are so on my "Split them into at least 3" races thing and Spiritfolk need a better.... Everything, to say nothing of how I'd handle Korobokuru (IE: As far as possible from how OA ever handled them, bloody Oath)

I guess if Hasbro is interested into the otaku community, Kara-Tur could be a good bait, but now there are some different "criteria" about sensibilities and politically correction.

We could see a sourcebook about crunch, with the update of the vanara, spiritfolk hengeyokai(ardlings?) and nezumi tari. Kara-Tur hadn't got a lot of metaplot, and a century after the frontiers of the kingdoms could have been altered.

My own suggestion is if there will be an update of the martial adepts (crusader, warblade and swordsage) Kara-Tur could be perfect for this.
