What are your initial impressions?

Incidentally, I feel like a COMPLETE idiot having actually bothered to do conversions of all usable PHB spells IMC. Talk about wasted work!

I'll be waiting for the print version, as is usual for me these days. Same with the IH Bestiary, damnit. :] I hate having to wait for these (no doubt) superb books, but oh well. *sigh*

Although at first I was disappointed to see iconic D&D spells in this book, after looking over some of the conversions, they aren't bad at all.

Initial impressions: it will be extremely useful. I run an AE/D&D hybrid game, and one of the big issues magisters are facing is spell choice. After a while, if I do not think about how spells come into play in-game, I'd find the AE PCs using always the same tricks/spells (same could be said about D&D, but the large number of spells gives more opportunity for casting customization).

I'll look closely at the spells in game to see how exactly it boosts the magisters. I doubt, after looking at a few spells, that it will be an issue. Especially when I think I'll probably get the Spell Compendium for Xmas.

Conclusion: the more spells the merrier! ;)

Impressions? Wow!
The book is 242 pages, good art and it's all B&W so it will only critcally hit your black ink cartridge.

Has an introduction to explain how to introduce new spells, A D&D Spell to Arcana Evolved spell list and a few monsters, such as the Treewarden (i.e. Treant) that are needed for certain spells.

Not just all the Malhavoc spells, but many of the missing D&D spells and even a few psionic powers from the XPH are here.

Many are "adjusted" to fit AE/U, but would make great errata for a regular D&D game as well.

I use the Magister to represent "Ancient Magics" like Atlantis, Suel or Netheril, and I especially like the Diminished & Heightened effects of AE/U spellcasting and yes the 9th level Wish can be Heightened to 10th level.
