Arcana Unearthed - Mage Blade question

Varianor Abroad said:
The amulet of spell knowledge would cost 1500 gp. The base amulet is (level of spell implanted) squared * 1000 gp. True strike is 1st level in AU. So that's 1 squared * 1000 gp = 1000 gp. Now, a few months ago Monte posted some errata, that exotic spells turned into items should have an item creation cost of 1.5. So multiply 1000 gp*1.5 and there ya go! :)
Thanks for that. Now to look through some of the PbP threads to see if there are any AU games I can use this character in..

I'm sorry. I was just wanting to make sure that I am reading this properly. Is the mageblade in Unearthed Arcana? I have been looking for it, but seem unable to find it. Thanks.

Sorry PenKnight, but no, you've got it confused. The Mageblade appears in Monte Cook's Arcana Unearthed, which was cleverly named after the same old-skool supplement that the 3.5 Unearthed Arcana was. AU is a fully playable d20 system with it's own classes (such as the Mageblade), races, feats, and magic system that all fits together in the "implied setting" of the Diamond Throne Empire, whereas UA, as you are probably aware, is a toolbox of options for 3.5 D&D.

Monte has since released a deluxe, "director's cut" edition of AU, which he re-titled Arcana Evolved to avoid this sort of confusion.

I see you found the "buff for goodness" that is Sibeccai Mage! (Note that you need Knowledge: Sibeccai 5 ranks if you aren't a sibeccai to get the feat. So you have to be level 2 to get that many ranks. Essentially it means you have to take the feat at 3rd level, not before.)

Reread the post: I did take the feat at 3rd level! Also note the ranks in Knowledge (Sibeccai) that were taken at first level. ;)

I did. Sorry I missed that you had taken it at 3rd. What I didn't miss is that you have Knowledge: Sibeccai listed as 4 ranks though. ;)
The other thing you missed is that this is a first level character! Notice how his level is listed as '1', his hit points as '9', and that he only has 3 feats. That's why he only has 4 ranks in Knowledge (Sibeccai), the max possible for first level. The feat progression lists which feats he will take as he advances in level.
