Arcane Screwball

First Post
I've been out of the D&D loop for about 8 months, and so I don't know if this is the right place to post this or not:

I'm wanting to make an "Arcane Screwball," gnome rouge/wizard. I've got 12, 10, 17, 17, 18, and 14 for stats. I rolled 160 gold. Now, what's your opinion on how to set up the character. I'm wanting to go to the Arcane Trickster p-class, I haven't actually read it, but from the description in the Epic Level download, it sounds like what I want.

I don't see any reason to not do rogue first, that way I get lots 'o' skill points. I also vaguely remember a "spell-casting prodigy" feat, which I think was really broken, that would be good, don't remember quite what it did, though.

(I only have the 3 core rule books, FYI.)

Definately pick up a copy of Tome and Blood. It's one of the best books out of the prestige books series. It's got alot of useful info. Before that book came out, I hadn't even thought of performing sneak attacks or doing criticals with attack spells. You do end up sacrificing your rogue base-attack switching over to an Arcane Trickster, but if you specialize in touch spells you're probably getting more of an attack bonus than you realize.
