Arcane Strike...

Since I can't search, I guess I must just ask this question that probably has been asked numerous times before.

As I read Arcane strike on the SRD, it seems like it does the same thing as magic weapon, or for that matter, a magical enhancement that is permanent... am I off base, or does that really limit the usefulness to this spell if it can't stack with your magically enhanced weapons. Sure you don't have to pay for it, but enhancing is permanent... and better!

Am I misunderstanding this? Thanks

The damage bonus from Arcane Strike is untyped, so it would stack with the damage bonus from an enhanced magic weapon.

One thing I'm curious about:

Is there a good reason not to take Arcane Strike?

You don't use arcane spells? Or you don't use weapons? It's only 1 damage anyway... great for my 2-natural weapons diabolic sorcerer though.
