Archfiends: Worst.. Collation.. Ever!

Well, to be exact it's only the collation of Commons:

Out of 3 packs of Archfiends I got:

3x Sage, 3x Zhentarim Fighter, 3x Gravehound, 2x Cultist of the Dragon, 1x Dread Guard

That means out of 12 Commons I got only 5 different ones.

Contrasting this, only one Uncommon was doubled, so I got 8 different Uncommons.

btw, the Rares were Drizzt, Hill Giant and Human Cleric of Bane.

I guess you weren't very lucky. I bought a case (16 packs) and got 50 of the 60 pieces. I'm still missing some uncommons. And I got 6 frickin' catfolk. And 6 frickin' gravehounds.

But all in all, I really like the archfiends collection. I think they're better detailed.

haven't found any in my FLGS yet. but your luck is not unusual.

you'll need a lot more cases to complete the series without buying/trading them individually online or at stores.

I was just hoping not to get the same Commons in two packs.
Well, I was lucky before. I guess it's not so bad (It could have been the Rares )
I will certainly buy some more.

I gotta say that Vrock just kicks arse, my jaw dropped when it fell out of the box. What a rush! I can't wait to use that sucker in my campaign. And Bone Devils! Can't have enough of those.

I bought a case and I got my share of Healers (4), Sages (3), Gnoll Archers (3), Graycloak Rangers (5), Zhentarim Fighter (5) and Dalelands Militia (5). Overall, I was pretty happy with the mix except for not getting a Vrock. Oh well, that's what eBay is for...

The excitement of getting an Aspect of Bane in my first pack (good for ogre mages) was lessened by getting a Unicorn (aka my little pony) in my second pack

I had terrible luck with the Harbinger set. I bought three boxes in a row and all three had the same rare - the centaur. Thank gawd for online trading. Also with Harbinger, in my first 10 boxes plus my starter box I picked up nine human commoners, the most worthless fig in the whole set IMO.

Had pretty good luck with Dragoneye and Archfiends though.

Sounds like you had some bad luck.

Try buying by the case, if you can. It's worth saving up for if you're a fan of the minis and seems to have better chances of getting a variety.

But to quote an earlier response, random is random. Even a case does not guarantee that you won't get many dups.
