Archive Thread Weirdness?

Perhaps I am misunderstanding something, or have missed a crucial bit of information somewhere. But, since I try to keep track of the Ceramic DM threads I noticed something odd.

The March 2003 Ceramic DM has been archived. However, the following link does not work: http://www.enworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42806
However, the cyberstreet link does work: http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=42806&perpage=40&pagenumber=1

The other archived Ceramic DM's link correctly, but this one does not. Very odd.

Just bumping this up. I'm not sure if it can be fixed, but if it can't, I will change the links in the Ceramic DM menus I maintain.

Yeah, it's just kind of weird. I thought it had been accidentally purged until I tried to follow the link in Speaker's .sig. I suspected that he (she?) had won the third Ceramic DM and I thought it would be a quick way to check. If my suspicions were correct, I expected to get a page cannot be displayed error. I was surprised to get the page and thought maybe it had been fixed. It took me a few minutes to realize that the link was to a cyberstreet address. I almost popped a message off for Speaker when I thought about checking both links and noticed the weirdness.

I'm not too worried about it because I have taken advantage of the new download a thread feature. In the worst case scenario, the thread can be rebuilt. :) But, if there is one archived thread like this, there could be others.

OK, even more wackiness!

I am cross-referencing stories/authors in all the Ceramic DM threads and I finally made it to this contest. I pulled up post #53 in a new window and had the enworld.cyberstreet.com address (http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/showpost.php?p=744808). Then, I went on a hunch. I corrected http://enworld.cyberstreet.com to http://www.enworld.org/forums and it came up in a window with an individual post in the same manner as if I were logged in correctly. I then clicked on the link in the upper right corner, which links to http://www.enworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=42806 and it came up correctly!

This is very strange and only worked through that exact sequence. I'm not sure it helps much and if my sequence of events is unclear, then let me know.

In the meantime, I am going to test a few things with the cross-referencing on this particular contest thread and see if I can learn anything useful to the problem.
