Are milestones enough of a motivation to avoid the 15 minute adventuring day?

Yeah for my campaign (now 6th level) it is all about surges. The players save their dailies for the fights that need it but rest becasue of surges. However there are enough surges (and cleric healing) to go around a good few encounters. Also encounter powers and at wills are good enough to get by all but the toughest of fights, if you are tactically sound....
...and the dice gods don't curse you as well! ;)

Edit: the working day comes down to how many above level encounters you give the party as DM IMO. My players are sensible (they could still nova every encounter but that would be dull) and so am I as a DM (I don't give them tough encounter after tough encounter)
