Are paladins immune to intimidation?

Was reviewing the intimidate skill, and saw where the "target" of the skill applies any bonuses to fear to the DC. So, as a paladin is immune to fear, is he then immune to attempts to intimidate him?

I think not, because there is a difference between immune to fear and that he don't think about any consquence.
for example, the group leader from some thugs says to the paladin:
you have a wonderful woman! It would be very sad if she has an accident!. (this is intimidate)
The immune to fear ability has no effect in my opinion, because he (the paladin) is not threated (he own health or life).

Yes, if a fear spell can't send them running, there is no way some guy putting on a mean face and spouting threats is going to send them running.

Paladins do not feel fear. Though this is not realistic, I always felt that Paladins were built as an Arthurian knight archetype. In the Arthurian Legends, the greatest knights, most blessed by god, felt no fear, ever.

The paladin is immune to the Intimidate effects, so he can think logically about the thug's threat without the fear reaction causing him to react emotionally.

Right. Intimidation is not always based on fear for one's self. Without that fear intimidation is less likely to work against a paladin, and certain tactics won't at all, but things like threatening innocents still could.

"Take one step more and I'll fireball the orphanage."

I just play it as if the Intimidate check automatically fails. Dr. Doom can threaten Capt. America with a line like "One more step and I fireball the orphanage!" as an attempt to intimidate the hero.

The threat is still a valid one, but the hero doesn't fall for his cheap and obvious ploy to scare him. Capt. America can still react to it logically and without fear.

Agreed - you can't intimidate a paladin.

Of course, the threat of "take one more step and the virgin maiden get her throat slit" still has some effect. You can give the paladin the choice of the lesser of two evils - always a fun thing to do to a paladin!!

"If you fireball that orphanage it will be your last conscious act in this life. On the other hand, if you surrender and come with me, I can guarentee your safety under the law. It is your decision, knave."
