Are people in game stores typical of gamers?

am i the only person here who actually IS this type of gamer that averyone seems to mock? I mean, I think the topic of whether or not Green Lantern could kick Darth Vader's butt is a fascinating and enjoyable topic for discussion. I mean on one hand, GL's ring gives him advantages such as flight, and the ability to have many more weapons than the lightsaber, but on the other hand Darth Vader has the Force. I think this would be a great fight, as GL's willpower would be strong enough that he wouldn't be taken down by something like a Jedi Mind Trick, and he'd probably be able to fight out of a force choke, but Vader's still got his telekinesis and saber skills. This would be a pretty even fight when you come down to it. Also, I suppose it depends WHICH green lantern... Hal, Kyle, John, Guy, Kilowog, G'Nort.....

:D

[NERD MODE] Geez It wouldn't be close to a fair fight. Assuming Vader didn't get the drop on GL with his mind powers, GL would mop the floor with him. He has great range and versitility. He could just overwhelm him with a horde of limitless emerald ninjas, monkeys, or other construct. He could blast him from a mile away. He could chunk huge asteroids at his star destroyer. GL could fly up to his Tie Fighter and crush it, decompress it, or just do the good super hero thing and remove him from the Tie Fighter and give him a stern lecture. Not only could Green Lantern defeat Darth Vader he could also destroy the Death Star, and he could do it single handed and he wouldn't need any plans, his ring would tell him where to attack. The majority of people I've met a gaming stores have been utter freaks. Deluded people who have come to truly believe their own delusions, people with incredibly poor hygeine, and just all around strange folk.

When I was in my mid teens, a few buddies and I joined a few games at our local gaming store. A few of the DM's were cool, but the players were some of the wierdest folk I'd ever met. It seems that alot of people who can't find regular games amongst an average group of gamers go the gaming store to try and find a group.

I can't count the number of gamers I met there who were black belts in some kind of martial arts, cops or ex-cops, knew everything about gaming, or just plain stunk. My experience with people from gaming stores has been bad. I now walk into a gaming store, get what I want, pay, chat with the owner for a few minutes about expected release dates of future products, and get the hell out.

well, i don't try to strike up conversations with strangers, so i guess i'm not that bad. i also try to bathe about once a week. i also reluctantly use deoderant, even though it's a scam. seriously, companies like mennen stay in business by conditioning us all to believe that we need to cover up the natural human smell, where if noone used deoderant no one would notice the people who don't and we could all save a lot of money *sigh*.

I suppose the same could be said of that darn toilet paper industry as well... and I really don't think the $15 - $20 I spend each year on anti-perspirant as a lot of money.
