Are there any D&D modules created soley for the sake of comedy?

I remember a line of adventures in Polyhedron called "Fluffy". They all revolved around a dog. I only ran one of then, a Christmas one since it was that time of year. It had Dark Elves casting Magic Mistletoe and a female storm giant named Aunti Claws (or something). I ran it on a lark because it was the holidays. I was surprised how much my players liked the adventure.

I also remember being a player for another RPGA adventure about some guy named Lum. We were in a giant arcade or some such. I remember that while the adventure was for laughs, the premade characters that were handed out were just as funny.

EX1 & 2 are based on Alice in Wonderland and seem like they would be jokes but aren't really -- there are some very dangerous encounters in those modules!

It's like a clown with a chainsaw...

The Machine of Lum the Mad--shouldn't that have been a mecha-based adventure? :heh:

There was another one in Polyhedron that was a blast. The name of it was "Uglystick", and it was about a wand that reduced your Charisma. I can't remember what issue it was in, but it was quite a while ago.

There is an adventure called Monsterquest in one of the old Dungeon Magazines. You play members of a goblin tribe sent to raid a nearby settlement.

The very bad WG7 "Castle Greyhawk", which I don't recomend...

I do, but I'm weird that way.

Greyhawk purists will tell you that it isn't what Gygax had intended, and they're right.

However, if that sort of thing doesn't bother you and if you don't mind a few bad puns, it can be quite fun. With the amazing Drider-man, the Human Scorch, Indiana Gnome, some Star Trek puns, and Elfin John (and that's just one chapter!).....how can you go wrong? ;)

Disclaimer: Dragonhelm has been known to like things that others don't. Do not berate the mighty Dragonhelm for his opinions. Due not attempt to sue the mighty Dragonhelm. Dragonhelm's lawyers can buy and sell you... ;)

Puns are much more common than comedy modules. Anyone remember the early Polyhedron Gamma World adventure "Mas Day in New Hope?" That was a black comedy. My favorite pun adventure of all time was the ending of a Frank Mentzer RPGA module. However, I can no longer remember the title! :(

Reverse Dungeon was an AD&D supplement published by WotC (just before 3E was released).

In it you play a group of monsters defending your liar from adventurers.

I never played it, but looking at it in the store, it seemed to have a "tongue-in-cheek" quality to it.

Well, for horrible puns, there are always the two Tusmit regional adventures for Living Greyhawk, Daoud, Where's My Cart? and My Big Fat Tusman Wedding, not to mention the encounter headings in Beneath the Twisted Tower, the adventure module in the old 2E FR box... "The Cube and Missile Crisis", "Gamboling Death", "Hot Springs Eternal", "Pond Skum", "The Rain of Pain is Mainly on the Plane"...

Incidentally, the module WG7 really is quite bad, both as a module and as a collection of jokes. And my copy smells like tobacco.

My Greyhawk Ruins adventure smells like cat - ps but I blame My stupid cat, not the manafacturer.

(okay so its been a decade and it doesnt smell anymore)

Necromancer Games has a free pdf adventure, called Feast of the Gobbler IIRC, that is full of puns. The idea is that a big evil turkey is the villian behind bad things happening.
