are u guys killing farm animals?

In a now defunct campaign my wife and I played in...

My DM was in the habit of handwaving... oh... just about everything. This was my introductory campaign so I didn't know or think anything of it at the time.

My wife's bard performed in a giants' bar and was showered with money and items for her trouble, so much so that we never even got a straight answer from the DM as to how much exactly she had made but he never really let us buy anything so it was mostly irrelevant. His solution to the problem of carting all this junk was to stuff it in a bag of holding. Oxen, cows, carts, chickens, grain, tons of gold coins, etc. all went into the bag.

When we found ourselves in a blizzard I suggested we needed something to keep us warm, a fire perhaps. She grabbed the first thing she thought of from the bag... a cow. And then set it on fire for warmth. And off into the freezing night goes a flaming cow, screaming in pain.

It has since become a running joke and I haven't found a way to get it into the game but it will be a recurring character once I do.

I have a use for chicken stats.

In a Rokugan game I ran, the party was traveling through a mountainous region while being tailed by a small band of ninja. One of the ninja, being more familiar with the region, used his ability to shadow jump to steal a baby girallon from a small pack that lived nearby. He grabbed the baby creature and bolted, Shadow Jumping just far enough that the other girallons kept chasing him. He headed straight for the group's camp, intending to kill the baby girallon and throw it into the camp, then shadow jump away, leaving the berserk creatures to wipe out the PCs.

Unfortunately, the party druid happened to be on watch that night, and heard the screaming creatures coming. He turned into a bird, and flew up to see what was going on. One Baleful Polymorph later, and the ninja was turned into a chicken, frantically shadow jumping away from the carnivorous apes.

That game is over, but the threat of the ninja chicken still remains. He'll be back to get his revenge... someday.
