Are You a Good Tactician?

When it comes down to it I'm good at most strategy games and my mastery of the D&D rules system, combined with my natural tactical ability makes me just uber.
But my achilles heel is that I am an arrogant pig-headed fool and sometimes I can get to focused on trying to complete a paticular objective.
Roleplaying also can get in the way of tactics in PnP RPGs too, which is fine by me, I actually prefer the roleplaying parts sometimes.

I rated myself as just average. I mainly DM and play in the occasional RPGA game. I think I do okay, but far from being an expert. I hope to pick up on more tricks and tactics as time goes on and I often pick up things from the players themselves.

Its because the poll means to say top 10%, at least if it is an attempt to mimic Crothian's as stated. That said, I can believe that the top 1/3 of ENWorld could be in the top 10% of all gamers...

I don't truly think of myself as stupid, but the numbers say it. In the last two years of playing DnD3e, I've gone through 17 characters, one of which has died 6 times.

I do barely alright for my own character, but I am an awful group tactician. Really, really awful. Just ask around.

I'm pretty bad. Luckily there are other people in the group who are much better than I am at tactics. I do better with puzzles.
