1. Do you spend more time making characters than playing them?

Most of the time. Our games tend to die out after the first session, as the DM is ALWAYS wanting to start a new one.

2. Do you spend more time on internet discussion groups than actually playing RPGs?

YES!

3. Do you play RPG's just to see your buddies and/or hit on a gamer-gurl'?

No / The only gamer-gurl I've met was 4'2" with an attitude,

Here's a dumb little quiz I was just thinking about. Some people don't actually game that much, but call themselves gamers. They're really wanna-be gamers..AKA PSEUDOGAMERS. Possibly even Were-Gamers.

Here's the quiz:
1. Do you spend more time making characters than playing them?
2. Do you spend more time on internet discussion groups than actually playing RPGs?

jh

Oh yeah, I only play to hit on gamer "gurls". Yup.

Actually, I think alot of us would game more if we could, but have other responsibilities in life (work, housework, pets, families) that need to come first.

I have two games this weekend.Sometimes I go over a month without seeing
the people I game with. That doesn't make me a "wanna-be" , nor does it make any of them "wanna-be's". If the only way to be a gamer is to game 24/7 every day of your life, then I guess I'll never be one, and that's okay by me.

PS. I named my dog Monty but not after Monte Cook. :)

I'm a DM. So yes.

2. Do you spend more time on internet discussion groups than actually playing RPGs?
About equal. I play by e-mail and in a regular group. So if my players haven't responded and I have time for gaming (or pseudo gaming?) I come here.
3. Do you play RPG's just to see your buddies and/or hit on a gamer-gurl'?
Uhhh...never really wanted to hit on a gamer gurl. But I play mainly as a vehicle for socializing with my buddies. Not really sure what this has to do with anything.
4. Do you create D&D worlds only to run games in them once or twice?
No.
5. Do you spend your time in school/work thinking about gaming, but really don't game that much?
I do spend time at work thinking about gaming...but I also spend time there thinking about hockey, paintball, sex, politics...anything but work.

6. Do you think about gaming when you are intimate with your partner(s)?
uhhh...no. not really. But I did flip on the Red Wings game afterwards the other night because I didn't want to miss the end...so does this make me more of a hockey fan than a gamer?
7. Did you name your dog/child Mordenkainen, but don't let him game with you?
No fair. That's two quetions. I named a pet frog Smeagol (and it sometimes eats my fish). And I do let my kid game with me (but not my frog, fish, dogs or cats)
8. Do you give a lot of gaming advice because you've read the rules thouroughly or because you've playtested them thouroughly?
I give a lot of gaming advice because I'm brilliant.

I think that gaming encompasses more than just playing the game, it also includes participating in the community. Some people may think about games a lot, wish they played more, but for one reason or another do not.

I wish I had more time to game, or rather, I wish my gaming buddies and I had free time that coincided. I spend a lot of time doing nothing, when I could be gaming. I spend a lot of it online (trying to cut down on that, though), and other parts reading or working on my game.

Most of my weekends are spent studying or working on school projects, though, so rather than being a golden age of my gaming career, I've gamed a lot less in college than in high school. Oh well... maybe next year.
