Are you bothering to read DUNGEON anymore?

No. PDF adventures just aren't useful to me unless I print them out, and then I need a new ink cartridge (and I have a bunch of loose-leaf paper to keep track of).

Actually I couldn't be bothered with the thing til it was online. So yeah, "still" in this case meaning "does now".

Of course, the last time I had a subscription to Dragon was during the 1e era. So I'm probably not their target demographic either.

Hi,

I've downloaded the adventures but have only read the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth one. Like most others, I don't like reading long PDFs on screen and haven't had time/the inclination to print them out. Also, and more importantly, Dungeon and Dragon are not proper magazines anymore - they're a series of PDF downloads and web pages given a nominal issue number. I miss having an editorial, letters, adventures and articles between two covers - what we've got is not the same thing!

I subscribe to KQ in PDF and it's far better than what WotC are now producing for Dragon. It's got all the features of a proper magazine and is even available in print, although shipping to the UK is very expensive. I print out bits to read on the train etc.

I don't think i'll bother with Dragon/Dungeon when you have to start paying for them. The other D&D Insider benefits sound quite good but I have a Mac.....

Cheers

Richard

I voted "Yes", but I don't really read them until I plan to use them (I don't know when that'll be, but...)

And only because it's free. And I leech off my office's printer.

I have perused the 1 and a half issues (or so) that have come out in the past eight months, but I would not say reading it. Frankly, it is not worth reading for me now, for several reasons

1: It is online. I don't generally read pdfs for fun online.
2: It has no adventure path. I never played one through, but I liked the design elements.
3: The adventures have an eulogy feel. WE never had a chance to print this (no one would LET us print this) while the magazine was viable, so let's print all those old ideas we had floating around because it does not matter anymore.

I know that sounds harsh, but I liked Dungeon a lot, and I'm still quite angry how WOTC killed it, and then left it in the ditch to rot.

I agree with you. It's not worth reading anymore even if you are really bored. It's sad that WotC did such a horrible thing. I get angry every time I think about it.

I'm grabbing the pdfs while they are free.

I've only bought two other dungeons, and those were pds. I don't expect to get a subscription any time soon though.

I've bought a ton of pdf adventures, but only War of the Burning Sky has been a subscription, and that was on sale for $36 for the 12 modules when I got it. I get a lot of adventures when they are on big sales, I think I have all the Monkeygod ones from the various $1 sales they have done.

IIRC, they said somewhere, that you can buy individual issues without paying for full DDI access.

Cheers, LT.

Once they put out a few decent 'issues' then I will think about it. I would like to see Dungeon as a good source of 4E adventures and ideas for me. I know it will take me some time to learn the system, and a few good 4E adventures could really speed the learning.

But do I think it will happen? Definitely not.
