Are you convinced yet?

I am interested but if WotC wants my money, then the burden is on them to convince me. Until I have facts in front of me (and more than a few) sufficient for an informed decision, I will remain interested but that's it. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to the playtest.

I am waiting to actually see the completed game before I make my final judgment. Not the hype, not the playtest, but the finished product.

I'm not convinced, but I'm very optimistic. Overly so, perhaps.

I just have this strange feeling that this really is going to be the best edition of D&D yet.

Me too. Only...I've felt this way about D&D three times now...and then love it for a couple years....and then frustration builds up...

I guess I'm the perfect customer.:)

It's about the opposite for me. Everything I'm hearing, aside from Monte Cook leaving, is something that I'm not really cool with. Still waiting to see stuff that I like.

Yes, I was DMing hot 3 years solid with 3rd Ed, but then the party got to higher levels and it all became a bit too unwieldy (arms race crap etc), then 4th came along, took care of some of the problems, but after DMing the 8th session or so, well, we haven't played any D&D since April 2010.

I have now gone back to Basic/1st Ed, and am subtracting bits, and adding bits from other editions.

I am liking what I'm hearing about 5th Ed, and if you can make a character with just ability scores, race and class, I will be happy, keep feats/skills/themes/backgrounds etc optional.
