Of course not, I just don’t think it’s relevant to the current conversation. Which is why the objection I raised is to its relevance, not to its accuracy. I generally endeavor to say (or type) what I mean. Precision of language is important to me, so I choose my words carefully.yes, do you disagree with that?
They are clearly not reacting to what I said, because I didn’t say what they’re reacting to.you also wrote

I think so.Aren't posts here just thoughts?
Right now the benefit is negative to me even if it were free. Wotc made big claims about how they were going to target player & GM "pain points" and have exclusively focused on only one of those while adding some do nothing changes that were either a deliberate miss or incomplete for the other. That creates a situation where those "pain points" become untouchable because "wotc did polling & fixed things that needed fixing you are being unreasonable to even consider x a problem[and I'm going to fight you every step of the way if you try]"The cost could be more or less significant to different people depending on their income, and how much of it they are willing/able to allot to hobbies and leisure activities. The cost/benefit ratio may be very heavily weighted in favor of benefit for you, and equally weighted in favor of cost to someone else.
Eh, they’re expressions of thoughts. If someone here was (for example) privately super transphobic, but they never expressed that transphobia in a post, I don’t think it would be right to ban them, even if their opinions were found out in some other way. However, if they did actually post something transphobic, then yeah, they should be banned.Aren't posts here just thoughts?

Yes, because Umbran accused me of thinking people who disagreed with me were dumb. I don’t, but I thought the more relevant objection was that it shouldn’t matter what I think, it should matter what I say, and I didn’t say, nor imply, that people who disagree with me are dumb. What I did say is that they’re jumping the gun. As in, acting too quickly.you mentioned thought policing, it was a response to that

Or they have sour grapes because some of the specific changes they wanted aren't there...but they'll still wind up buying in eventually, when they need a new PHB or whatever. I agree that these EnWorld polls are not representative samples. Not that this poll is representative but if it was it would be good news for WoTC. Seems most will buy it. I suspect many of the 24% who don’t plan to, never intended to regardless and haven’t been playing 5E so they aren’t really a loss.
