Are you going to do the Steampunk thing?

Planning on getting Fantasy Flight's book so I can consider working some "steampunk" into things. I think fantasy and technology mix well in most cases.

I'm already doing it in my PbP, although the tabletop game I'm starting for my group next month is going to be "straight and classic" - they weren't too keen on my steampunk ideas. :D

Absofrickinlutely. Iron Kingdoms sold me on the concept, FFG's book will hopefully give me all the tools I need to flesh it out. My love of stempunk know no limit!!!!!111!!

Absolutely. I had already been working on a Steampunk/Victorian/Lost World campaign since 3rd Edition came out. Then I saw Iron Kingdoms and it has most of what I had already planned for my game. Now, if only I could find players for one or the other....

One thing I'm building into my new campaign world that I've never done before is the concept of technological progress. In the past all my worlds have had a kind of "locked in 1400" kind of mind-set. I'm planning on having things advance over the years.

As of the campaign's start date, smokepowder will have been invented 100 years ago, and I may advance the game a few decades if the game restarts at some point (or if I rebuild it for 4.0 whever it inevitably comes out), there may well be more elements.

Looking at the Gun Mage class from the IK site, I could see something like that popping up in my world, as an incredibly rare thing, then becoming more common over the course of 100 years or so... In 200 years, maybe steamships and dirigibles could make an appearance. I think magical/technological progress could make the whole world tie together really neatly.

Yes and no. :)

I'm probably one of the two people on the boards who is actually looking forward to Eberron, so that could turn into a "yes." The art preview made it look like Tekumel meets Jorune meets Arcanum, and I think that's way cool.

However, I'm also probably one of the two people on the boards who is kind of put off by the Iron Kingdoms. Granted this is based on reading the Character Primer, not the Monsternomicon (which is sitting on my shelf); the CP really rubbed me the wrong way.

Of course, it really depends on what the rest of my group wants to do. :D
