Veteran's day, or Rememberance day, as it's referred to in Canada, is the one day a year my profession is not allowed to conduct business. So I thought I ahd a nice, relaxing day ahead of me. Then I received a call that a tree had fallen on our cabin, and I was out the door to get it off.

Nope. But I did wish my friend Richard a Happy Veterans' Day since he served in the Navy during Desert Storm back in '91.

Off Friday and today, woo-hoo! (Well, technically I'm the duty officer today, so I'm working, but since it's on-call only, I'm able to goof off.)

but then again, i work for the US gov't.

We had Monday off instead of Friday, which I thought was really odd.

Then again, I left work really early on Friday to get to Chicago for the gameday. I don't think it qualifies as more than half a day for me.
