Im only doubled up on one player this year for fantasy!
As in, the same player in multiple pools? I'm in two leagues... same kicker and team DEF in both. Butker and Washington.

Draft is tonight. We'll see how it goes. It's a twelve-team league and it's cutthroat, so every year I end up really disappointed by the team I get (because everyone else is really involved and there are no low-hanging fruit) ... but I do okay because no one gets a great team.

At some point, I hope to convince everyone to move to an auction format, but we're still doing snake. I pick 10th, which I'm actually good with. I like the ability to have the "double pick" at that point. I have the inkling of a strategy right now ... but the rest of 'em have always screwed up my strategy going in.

My tentative strategy:

With the late double tap, I'd like to go "best available RB" and then Bowers. Next time around, it will be "best of Allen/Jackson" and next best RB. Then dumpster dive for WRs.

What will likely happen?

Lots of internal screaming, followed by panicky picks of RBs and WRs. Eventually draft a few flyer QBs and random TE toward the end. I will mask by sadness by trashtalking the picks of my opponents.

I actually like the nobody has a great team league because they just feel more competitive.

Surprisingly, it has similar results to the nobody has a great team and the unexpected picks are always left field. Its truly a fun format!

The caboose is nice. I usually get stuck in the middle which feels like an eternity between picks. Having the luxury of not fretting over two picks is a decent boon.

Interesting... Do you play 2WRs and flex? I did end up going heavy RB in my salary cap draft (not by choice its what they gave me). Ive been WR or bust for about 4-5 seasons now.

Im definitely known as a TE "hater". I just see too much downside on spending a top draft pick on one, and too much upside on not worrying about it until end of draft. One trend in my salary cap league is folks spending on TEs, even getting multiples. Im A-ok with that trend!

Yes, 2WRs, 2RBs, 1FLEX (RB, WR, TE). My league has definitely gone WR-crazy in the past four years, so I've had my success going against the grain and going RB heavy. For some reason, I've had a lot of success mining enough talent and roster juggling with WRs to complement really strong RBs, and I usually field 3 RBs in my starting lineup.

I think that unless you're spending the pick to get Bowers, or happen to get McBride or Kittle, you're better off not picking a TE until the end. I know Bowers won't be around when I make my third pick, so I might grab him with my second.

Plus? He's fun. I like fun. Contrary to popular belief!

The only position I really care about is RB. The rest I end up streaming through the season anyways (especially DST and TE). I can never have enough RB's (and QB's, but that's superflex for ya).

All RBs? Fantasy Football like your grand pappy played it!

Im coming around the idea that RB heavy can work exactly because it bucks the trend. So, I dont hate it. I've just always been WR crazy.

Yeah, I used to care about WRs, but man, I've had some real issues with consistency. I'd rather have a roster full of starter RBs on run heavy offenses any day.

However, I'm also in a full PPR league, so that explains why I always make the playoffs and consistently come in 3rd or 4th....

RB heavy, just as Gygax intended!

Fantasy football must be played with a multitude of backs that are running (perforce, as the tomfoolery of a wideout and the self-obsession of the diva who catches spheroid oblongs for the purpose of profit is basically held to be the antithesis of the warrior mentality required for the gridiron).

Just needed to sprinkle in a description of some odd team colors like citron and puce. Oh, and a leering vulture watching the game from a tree with bloated, rotting fruit wouldn't hurt.

I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but I inherited someone's team in a long-running league I just joined. Similar format to yours 2WRs, 2RBs, 1FLEX (RB, WR, TE), but with a QB, DEF and a K (sigh...). The team included Bijan, Saquon and James Conner (so basically, a pretty decent flex). The draft was last week... website glitch... I had no Draft button come my turn. After tons of cursing, refreshing the page, logging in and out and other rituals, my Draft button came back in about the 10th round. A former co-worker of mine told me before the draft that those three could probably win the pool all by themselves... that theory will be put to the test.

But re: RBs. I am all about going RB with my first two picks (usually). In my main draft this year, Justin Jefferson was somehow sitting there for me in the second round at pick #11. I had to settle for RB #2 Jonathan Taylor with my 3rd round pick (Saquon was available in the 1st round at pick #6).
