Fair warning: this is primarily a vent. Feel free to ignore it. If you want to reply and offer me condolences or tell me to jump in the lake or whatever, please do. :)

I am in the process of working up a setting to be "co-DM'd" between 3 people. We've been bouncing some ideas off of each other for a week or so and things are just getting to the point where we can think about making a concrete map and naming some cities, etc.

An idea came up for some powerful item-creating artifacts that existed in the world which the characters might be able to use eventually. My idea was to have them find them in the course of their adventures and finally figure out how to use them. I had worked up a few concepts on exactly how the items might work and emailed a few docs to the other 2 "co-DMs." So far no problem.

Then one of them replied and sent the message to the entire group INCLUDING THE PLAYERS!

I saw the reply early this AM and sent a message to everyone asking them PLEASE not to open the reply and just delete it, but I'm worried they might not realize what they're looking at right away. The original information wasn't included in the reply (thank gawdz!) but the co-DM's feedback is fairly leading.

Here's the rub; his wife JUST had their 2nd baby yesterday and he had replied only a few hours after getting back from being with her at hospital (he had to come home to stay with kid #1). He was obviously just not thinking too clearly so I don't want to explode or anything.

That being said, ARRRRRGGH!!!! I SPENT ALL DAY ON DESIGNING THAT STUFF AND NOW THE PLAYERS JUST GOT EMAILED A "HINT-BOOK"!!

phew! I needed that!

Thanks for listening.

Biological waste happens. :)

I am sorry to hear the spoilage, but tell your co-DM congratulations on his new arrival from all of us! :)

Ill second Henry.

Try to find out the damage before you run out and do something rash, It might not be as bad as you think.

I won't go postal or anything, it was just a rude awakening. I was eating my cereal this AM when my wife (one of the players) looks up from her laptop and says "What's up with this reply from ___ ? I never saw an original message. Something about magic items??"

I dropped the spoon.

:(

Just change the information in some minor ways, and tell your players that if they read it, they shouldn't use it. When a player does (for example, the hint included a password, saying the original password will result in a fireball or something)
