Sigh. First day of school starts in 45 min. I've been teaching high school for twelve years but I always get the first day shakes. :uhoh: I've been up since 3 am due to nerves. :heh:

Here goes . . .

(Oh, and if you get a chance, send me some positive energy or something. ;) ).

My wife was impossible to get up this morning for her first day in her new district. A summer of sleeping in later is difficult to overcome.

I am not looking forward to getting the kids up for their first day tomorrow.

Best wishes, Shortman.

My wife's a teacher; today was Opening Day for her, too. She's been going in for 2 weeks to get things set up, but today was the first day of the 5 a.m. wake-up call. Brutal.

I understand you. I teach at a local community college, after teaching at the local chain of a region wide tech/vocational college for about 4 years, and our classes started about 2 weeks ago. I have nightmares fairly regularlly about teaching class all the time. They usually involve being unable to control the students or things like wandering around with a group of students behind me looking for a class room.

People always tell me they have nightmares about not be prepared for class, I tell them I do to, but in mine I am the teacher. I don't ever have the other kind.
