I remember a kid down the street who had an Intellivision! Gosh, that was back when I was like 7 or something. They had this game "B-52 bomber" or something that I was totally addicted to.
B-17 Bomber. When I was a kid I wanted an Intellivision so bad just so I could play that game.

How about this: When I was 11, my father took me to the 1982 World Fair in Knoxville, TN. In the science and technology pavilion, there was a booth that had an Intellivision with the speech pack installed. They had the B-17 game and a few others. One was some sort of fantasy game as I recall.

That was pretty much the same time that the Atari 2600 came out. Prior to that, there were no home video games aside from a home "pong" unit from Radio Shack.

Man, I played this really cool game a long time ago. It was about these three hot fantasy women who had magic powers, and the main character had guns and could sing. The graphics were really . . . y'know, kinda lifelike, and the soundtrack consisted of more than beeps and burrrs. Oh, and get this. . . . There was a plot! I know, crazy isn't it?

It was called something about 2 X's, or something? I dunno, my ex-girlfriend stole the game from me before I had a chance to enjoy it.

Final Fantasy X-2? :)

I think about the fun times I had as a (only slightly younger than I am now) kid. Reading books that I recently reread to discover that they were dreck. That sucks mightily. All of my favorite games are old or free. Liero, Seiken Densetsu 3, Dungeon Crawl and other rogue-likes (but not NetHack), Tank Wars (with lovely polygons). All my friends play FF and Bloody Roar and Soul Calibur, and I envy them not a whit. Well, maybe one whit, but you get the idea.

You know what's really bad? I had a Nintendo (my original one from around 86-87) up until last year. One day in October it sadly passed away. So what did I do? I immediately started rummaging around flea markets/thrift shops for one! When I couldn't find one there I had to resort to eBay. But I got a new Nintendo, and man is it in good shape. I must have spent like 18 hours playing Final Fantasy and Shadowgate the day it arrived! I still have my Sega Genesis too. And the Nintendo 64 that I never got around to buying any games for (except Pod Racer) I guess the cool thing about all this is that I'm still spellbound by the original Zelda and FF. And Mule. Why is it that game is so addicting? Admittedly, Mario doesn't do much for me anymore, but most games I can play over and over. That's probably why I play all the King's Quests, Quest for Glory s, Gabriel Knights, Monkey Islands, and Leisure Suit Larrys about once a year. Whoo Hoo! Okay, I have SO dated myself with this.

Yeah, I'm a bit of a gaming luddite myself. Although my brother ended up with the old 8-bit NES system, I still only have a SNES and a PS1 at the house.

Not that I wouldn't mind picking up a newer system, it's just that I'm wishy-washy between xbox and PS2. Maybe I should get them both...

And my favorite types of console games to play? 2-D fighters like the Street Fighter or King of Fighters games. So I probably should get a Dreamcast. They're dirt cheap too.

Is it just me, or was QG5: Dragon Fire extremely disappointing to you too? I think it was probably the worst one in the series all around. The best? QG4: Shadows of Darkness, of course. That one is in a perfect tie for my favorite CRPG, right next to Baldur's Gate 2.
