OOC: Telling the story once per person we meet means we'd better not meet many people (in addition to being annoying)... isn't this a bit impossible to uphold? Especially with a broad-enough definition of "meet"...

(OOC - We actually have a bit more control over this than it looks like. For one - we only have to tell the story once to those we -speak to-. We could, in theory, just not speak for a month...communicating through written messages and servants, perhaps...and not have to worry about this at all. For another, if Ilshana's clarifications are agreed to, then we only have to tell the story to any particular person once. So we could address, say, an entire common room and tell the story to all of them, and then speak to any of them with impunity. It's not as bad as it looks. And if worst comes to worst, then the Wolf Queen appears, and we'll have to fight her...which is where we'd be if we didn't do this in the first place. So really, no big loss.)

"Then it is agreed."

The queen nods, as if to herself. "The story will continue. The.. things will go. The place that was ours shall be again."

The old woman looks at all of you with wolf like intensity and hunger, before her eyes settle once upon the beautiful girl. She grins, showing her teeth, and a long thin wolf-tongue pants between them.

"Please!" says the girl. "You must destroy the horrible monster! You don't understand.. it waits, it hides in the corners, it will come when you think you are safest! Please, kill it now!"

The old wolf-lady looks you all over, waiting, her hands tucked into her apron; you notice it is stained with old blood.

"No" Leo replies, "she won't. She just promised not to lay her curse upon us - and I tend to trust she'll be good at her word. And she also promised not to do so on "ours", which will soon include the people here - so her power here is broken." He looks at the child menacingly - "You, now - return to whence you came, your business here has ended".

OOC: When we go back to the Baron, we should insist that he formally grants us the structures below, in return for us giving him the full rights back. In this way, all people and any thing in the area will be formally "ours" and the Wolf Queen won't be able to harm anyone there - she promised not to lay her curse on "you and yours". If later she comes back to haunt the castle, or somewhere else, we could make a similar arrangement for it too - which could be very beneficial for us in the long term.

(OOC - When dealing with the fey, the answer is always, "Whatever suits her the most, unless otherwise specified." That said, fey don't usually care much about stuff, unless they know someone else really wants it.)

The odd fae girl who you have just rescues looks downcast. "It hasn't ended.. properly." she mutters.

There is a strange shift in her physique, and her body changes in a flash of light and odd tinkling noise into a beautiful deer, before running off up the stairs to the castle!

The wolf queen smiles again, before a similar shape change happens and chases the deer out.

You are all left alone at the bottom of the covenant.

Maybe we can write story ideas on a piece of scroll and strike those we use as the time goes by.
Gorgamesh breaks the silence, trying to amuse his companions as he refers to the story they will need to tell each time they meet someone.
Do you think we can claim this covenant from the baron as a prize for lifting the curse? Thought, a covenant with a nearby portal to the abyss is something not pleasant.

"Don't forget the hole in the wall to the convent," Ilshana reminds him. "That's not much better for willworking. No, I think it's best if we just take what we can from this place and keep looking."

"Agreed" says Leo. "Now, about taking what we can - I've had enough traps set loose on me", he shifts uncomfortably, his wounds hurting him. "There are two cabinets left, and three magi - go for it."

OOC: We should take what's in the other cabinets, and then head for the baron.
