Goetry is the proper term for what is commonly called demonology. Demonology is simply the study of Demons, while Goetry is the art of working with them. Goethe is indeed the root source of the term, at leat if I recall correctly, Faustus being the essential demon worker.

Well, it was a logical mistake, and I am fairly certain that I was informed that Goethe was the source - sometimes a mistake can go through several generations. :) (I can even remember the name of the person who so informed me... been a long time since I have seen her.)
