[ART] Kalamar DM screen - what do YOU want?

I would love to see something along the lines of what is on the HackMaster screen. Maybe a little more serious, but basically the same. If not that, then maybe something like what was on the box of Birthright, by Tony Sczudlo (sp?) They put the same scene on their DM screen - a huge, all-out battle.

War of the Gods

I think the outside image should depict a scene from the War of the Gods, perhaps the final battle where the Overlord was about to get whacked. Show the Overlord about to get stomped by the Knight of the Gods and the Old Man, with the Confuser of Ways and the Creator of Strife standing by... the Lord of Silver Linings about to whisk away the Overlord. Other gods in the background, looking on in interest, glee, or horror at what is about to occur.

The flip image should show the races of Tellene... not just the Human races, but the demihumans and the humanoids, so that players can get a good idea of what all the races look like.

I'm really looking forward to this screen... I've been using the one from Scarred Lands, as the original one was lacking substance and order. I've heard the Forgotten Realms screen is better, and that the booklet therein is a must for FR DMs. The booklet with the Scarred Lands screen was also very good. Of course, I don;t see a booklet coming with the Kalamar screen, as the screen practically contains a booklet as it stands. However, perhaps an 8-page guide to prices in the Sovereign Lands would be in order, something like Jolly did years ago with the Alderac gazetteer.

Exactly. The Birthright screen was the best screen, from a visual standpoint, that I've seen yet. I also agree that pictures of the various races would be helpful. Finally, I'd like to echo the sentiment that it'd be ideal if the screen had enough generic info to be useful to DMs of other world's as well as Kalamar.

The Hackmaster screen looks great. Kudos.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! Keep it coming!

And don't worry, there will be more than enough standard D&D rules and tables so that you can use it for any D&D game.

Feel free to add suggestions as to what tables and rules you want to see, too.

charts and game info

A screen should be for stuff you want immediately at your fingertips without flipping through books so:

Combat Rules info,

The SRD combat actions section so you can quickly look up what provokes an AoO, what is an MEA etc. without flipping through a book.

A skill chart with common DCs as in the Ravenloft 3e screen.

I do not need equipment prices or monster by terrain random encounter charts.

Perhaps monster type info so I can check default abilities (do aberrations have darkvision?)

Perhaps common item stats (we hack at the wooden door and do 15 points of damage, do we break it down this round?)
