Art Review starting with, Previews: August and Beyond

I really liked the art discussion topic of the previews we got from the MM for 4th edition thought I'd start up a similar thread for the previews we're getting now and see if anyone was interested.

Now we have a few pieces here the Drow, the Gensai and the Thief running from the guards with an eversmoking bottle esque object in his hand.

Now I really like the art for all three, The Drow is sinister enough with a more Elf look than Eladrin, The Gensai is in the same otherworldly gracefulness as the Eladrin and both of them are going to stand out in a crowd.

The thief running away though is my favourite, I presume he is an Eladrin with his Solid eye colour and elvish looks, I like his range of implements from shuriken to grappling hhok, the thing which brings it down is the human guards their faces could have been done a bit better

The genasi really stood out to me as a real impressive piece of work. I love the colors, the lighting patterns on the skin and the crystalline-like hair. Is it supposed to be an earth genasi or air genasi?

Hmm possibly a Lightning Gensai if they exist

or a combo of two elements maybe air and earth/fire to create the lightning but who knows? it definetly doesn't give off the water or fire vibe.

Shadow sounds like a reasonable bet then since I don't feel she looks very fea, abyssal or astral.

Something like a stormsoul. Or perhaps a stormsoul/earthsoul.

Not particularly impressed with the picture. While not bad, it's just way too static and the colorization/lightning pattern doesn't really work for me.

I enjoyed them, I agree that the thief is pretty cool (excluding the guards)
