D&D Companion Set BECMI (from the product description: “OD&D had short sections on ruling baronies and constructing castles. It was clearly intended as a successful end point for high-level characters. The idea carried into AD&D (1977-1979), where higher level characters could build strongholds (or towers), but by this point the rules were vestigial: the concept of characters settling down to rule was largely outside the norm of D&D play as the game entered through the '80s.”) D&D Companion Set (BECMI Ed.) I do not know if we can stop AI from getting all the books to learn from. Nearly everything is digital and available someplace which means it is someplace that it can be gotten from. Legally or not, I see everything taken before laws can stop it. There are sides to these issues that each think they are right and power and money usually win.

Sure, but publishers can be regulated in how they use it. Obviously there will always people who will break the law, but that's not a reason to not have laws. Anyway, that's all just far off future speculation. Who knows what will happen!

That's the thing...they're not just messing with indie artists on DeviantArt anymore. These are mainstream authors from the biggest publishing corporations out there. This is a lot of money that the techbros are threatening from actual, established companies. Which will affect investment funds and trusts that the big banks rely on for steady dividends. That's why they're having hearings in the US, UK, and EU over this technology and how to regulate it. Legislation runs years behind the tech, but right now the tech companies are playing with fire because when companies like Disney and Comcast are losing money, they don't play nice.
