I took some weird little consolation that I had used the name sticker making it a model of Discovery, rather than one of Challenger.

Yeah, the kink in the exhast cloud, the solid rocket separation. shiver
It was a day that I chose to take a rare mental health day off from work. Seeing the zoomed in shot and thinking, "There shouldn't be flame there..." <BOOM!>

It's been a lifetime since I was sitting in the "gymnatorium", at school, watching a moon shot on TV.

At the end of TMZ they showed video of the launch from a passing plane. I'm going to see if I can find it. They also said the toilet broke during launch, but the crew was able to fix it. 10 days without going to the bathroom. 😲

As others have mentioned, I remember The Challenger, and Columbia. I also remember the rovers landing on Mars. Our space program has had tragedy, but it has had many more triumphs. I have every hope this mission is a success. I'll never get to travel to space. I'm jealous of the few that have. This is one of those moments that the world can look to and be inspired.
