Their suits are bathrooms as well, I believe, although no one wants to live like that for 10 days.
I would assume there is some backup in place if they couldn't fix it. The host of the show said he did some research, meaning one of the staff did some research. According to them, if the waste has managed to leave the spacecraft it would be traveling at 17,000 mph. At that speed there wouldn't be anything left of the fan after it was hit.

As far as I can tell they haven't defined what "broken" means, in this context. It could be as simple as the primary vacuum hose came loose. It's pretty much a fancy vacuum cleaner and without negative pressure, it wouldn't work.
 





After watching many shuttle launches (online cos of where I'm non-US) and then for a few years watching launches of Falcon and SpaceX gear as they ramp up their knowledge, watching Artemis was such a cool thing, I never get tired of it. And it's awesome to see they 4 astronauts have some decent space to move around in and a built in flywheel exercise machine too.
