Ascetic psion feat?

Dark Dragon

Hi folks,

I'm playing a monk/psion and look for a feat that allows to advance the monk even after taking levels as a psion. I know that there are similar feats for rogue/monk, paladin/monk,... but so far I didn't find it for monk/psion.
Would be cool if such a feat is in one of the "Complete X" series books (I don't have all of them, so I ask here).

Thanks!

I don't have access to most of them at the moment, but it is not in Complete Divine or Complete Scoundrel, to my knowledge. Your best bet if searching the Complete series would be the "Complete Psionic".

Check my database (see the sig).

There are a variety of ways for Monks to multiclass- usually in the form of variant base classes in the FR campaign books- but there may be something in psi-happy Eberron.

Tashalatora (SoS) lets your psi class levels boost certain Monk abilities.
Monastic Training (Eberron p57), as I recall, lets you multiclass.

According to Feat Index on WotC site , there is a feat called Ascetic Psion is in Secrets of Sarlona supplement. But reading the short description of this feat, I am afraid of that is not the feat you are looking for. I can't verify as I don't have that book.

You are a practitioner of one of the many style comprising the kalashtar path of shadows, such as the Tashalatora. Mixing meditation, discipline, and movement have taught you to become psionically focused more easily while distracted.

Actually, it's exactly the feat he's looking for. The last line of the feat says "In addition, you can multiclass freely between the psion and monk classes." The feat also allows you to become psionically focused as a standard action with no AoO, and lets your monk and psion levels stack for determining your monk AC bonus, as well as lets you add your Intelligence modifier to your AC instead of your Wisdom modifier.

The feat's prerequisites are Wis 13, Improved Unarmed Strike, Narrow Mind, and manifester level 1st.

Monastic Training lets you choose any single class and freely multiclass with your Monk class.

Tashalatora (SoS) lets your psi class levels stack with Monk for AC, FoB & unarmed strike damage, but doesn't let you multiclass.

Ascetic Psion (SoS) lets your Psion levels stack with Monk for AC, multiclass between the 2 classes, and sub Int instead of Wis for AC bonuses.

Many thanks! That is exactly the feat I was looking for. The only problem that still remains is to get the players in my group convinced that choosing the feat is ok...(but so far, we only the use the Complete Series books, PHB, DMG, FRCS, PGtF, and Expanded Psionic books for choosing classes, skills, and feats).

Can't possibly make you more broken than some other FR stuff in the books you listed. *CoughIncantatrixInitiateoftheSevenfoldVeilCough*
